The class helped Horace learn new skills, make new friends and have fun in the process. He even says he would like to do it again.
“Because I got to meet new people going through the same things that I was going through…the friendship and the bond we [made] in class.”
The Hospitality Boot Camp teaches students about the sectors within the service industry including restaurants, hotels and event planning among others. Job preparedness, which can include outside speakers, is another sector of the program.
Horace said he had not used a computer before. “Another [person] helped us with our resumes. I found it extra helpful to me.”
The former sanitation employee is back to work, now working for a company that provides janitorial services.
